Open Maker - Onboarding Form

It is our pleasure to invite you to join the OpenMaker community of makers and manufacturers.

OpenMaker is a flagship European Commission project bringing together makers and manufacturers in a purpose-built ecosystem to support and enable cross-boundary partnerships for innovation. The project is being piloted in four locations across Europe – Italy, Spain, Slovakia and the UK – and is intended to combine skills and expertise within the manufacturing sector to benefit all collaborators and stimulate innovation in manufacturing. This innovation is anticipated not only in products and production processes, but in business models as well as governance structures and systems.

This ecosystem will combine the four offline sites with an online digital platform to support the identification of new communities of makers and manufacturers across Europe. An enabling programme to encourage collaboration will be in place at each offline site, together with a piloting support scheme to provide funding for chosen collaborations in order to support the initial prototyping and proof of concept stage.

The consortium leading this project is formed of 10 partners from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. Areas of expertise include incubating and accelerating innovative start-ups, running capacity-building programmes for new entrepreneurs, stakeholder engagement, engaging European policymakers with the ideas and developments within the social innovation sector, and the use of complex system science to study and enhance networks of collaboration.
